A domestic worker on Monday morning reported her employer’s attempted suicide to Hong Kong police after finding him unconscious in a village house in Yuen Long, New Territories. The man was pronounced dead later.
At 7am, the maid found her 65-year-old male employer unconscious in a village house on Kam Sheung Road in Sheung Tsuen, HK01.com reported.
A pot of burned charcoal was beside the man. The maid immediately called the police. When paramedics arrived, he was in an unconscious state. He was sent to Pok Oi Hospital but was pronounced dead later.
Police said they found a pot of burned charcoal and a suicide note in the house. They found nothing suspicious after initial investigations, pending an autopsy to confirm the actual cause of death.
