A Filipino domestic worker based in Yuen Long, in Hong Kong’s New Territories, has been put on trial for allegedly stealing handbags worth HK$3,000 (US$385) from her employer.
On Monday, the trial of Rosanna Ranola, who had been hired by Lam Ka Wai on May 2016, began in Tuen Mun Court, where she faced a charge of theft, sunwebhk.com reported.
Lam said her family had moved to a bigger home in a complex called The Oaklands in Yuen Long from Tai Wai, also in the New Territories, last February. She said that since then her domestic worker’s performance had become unsatisfactory, as Ranola complained about the heavier workload in the new home.
Last October 4, Lam and Ranola had an argument about Lam’s daughter’s school uniform not being washed. The argument intensified and Ranola said she wanted to quit right away.
Lam told Ranola she could not leave until November 2 because she had to give one month’s notice, but the maid persisted that she wanted to leave right away.
Ranola ran to her room and started calling her friends for help. Lam followed her and saw that the maid had already packed her things.
Lam ordered her to unpack her luggage, and discovered two of her handbags buried under a pile of clothes. The bags reportedly cost a total of HK$3,000.
Ranola allegedly claimed at first that Lam had given the handbags to her, but then she changed her statement and said Lam had thrown them away.
The trial will resume on February 15.

mangungorrect na ng lang mali pa…… ????????????????✌✌✌✌
tama .GOD knows everything..
Sometimes things happened in a complicated way, If the helper took her handbags its impossible that she wont realize it as long as she has a full storage of handbags. Sometimes employers are taking revenge on their helper if the helper quit the job knowing that its not easy for them to get new one. Also not all helpers are good and not all are bad, Give both parties the benefit of the doubt.
Changed statement must be in big trouble.
Aw. Good luck kabayan
May inconsistency sa mga sagot nya, which means possibleng magsisingaling sya.
If the employer throw it away anyone can pick it up,, that is not stealing,,so I think even if ur employer change her statement n say she throw it away,, the helper still don’t consider stealing,,the employee only consider picking up someone else’s rubbish
Thats, why i always make it sure na all items that given to me from my employer like DRESSES, SHOES, i always take a photo and posted it at social media then SHARE it to her and say thank you. And i will wear it my DAY OFF and i showed to her with selfie.
all passenger should take note taxi number when riding taxi. for safety.
now a days some taxi drivers become too crazy.

Jhona Muccong feeling ko kasi kung nag agree xa na mag follow sa rules na one month notice hindi naging ganito ka complicated… Parang un nalang naisip ng employer para maging fair.. Syempre ikaw ba naman alisan ng helper agad agad especially kung both may work pa ang mga amo.. But we dont know the whole story bkit nya nagawa un.. Mine is just a thought kasi i been there.. Hindi din mdali pag kaw na nasa sitwasyon… Lets hope fpr the best????????
There are many insidents like this sometimes employer give clothes, bag, shoes then after a month they were searching again as if they forget that they already dispose them.such my experience madam gave me a bag then I just put on top of my bed so every day is here then 1day she said why long tym she is looking for this but I did not return to her, then I said have you forgoten that 3wks.ago you gave me for my daughter?but since can not pack that I just leave on my bed.then she said I need it.so I give back since then ,I did not get any thing that she give me I said I will thraw them until to avoid problems
SA pagkakaalam ko pwd ka nman bumaba right away as long ikaw Ang magbabayad ng 1 month notice
Pede bumaba agad-agad basta bayaran niya amo niya ng one month lieu.
Pakitagalog na lang.
Nyahahaha!!!this made me laugh too loud.????????????fr.now on maids(all over the world).we have to make a waiver, signed by employers everytime they give us little things or if we intend to keep the things they throw away bec.that might cause us going to court and finally be imprisoned.ohhhh my!!!i think i am one of the luckiest maid on earth coz i got the nicest employers ever..thankz goodness!!!
