A Filipino domestic worker has been arrested in Kuwait for stealing her employer’s diamond necklace and four diamond rings.

The maid’s female employer filed a complaint at the Farwaniya Police Station last week alleging that her jewelry, worth 9,000 Kuwaiti dinar (US$29,824), were missing, Arab Times reported.

The police investigated the case and discovered it was the employer’s Filipino domestic worker who stole her jewelry.

The domestic worker was arrested a week later and allegedly admitted to the charge. She showed the police where she had hidden the stolen jewelry.

In Kuwait, the maximum penalty for theft is two years in jail.
