A 37-year-old Indonesian domestic worker has been arrested by the Hong Kong police for alleged child abuse. The woman’s employer, whose surname is Yip, called the police after she suspected the maid of abusing her 10-month-old son.
The incident is alleged to have happened in a flat at Discovery Park in Tsuen Wan, the New Territories, Headline Daily reported.
Yip told police she had installed a surveillance camera in her apartment and regularly checked the video footage.
She claimed last Sunday that it showed the domestic worker throwing her baby son onto a bed several times.
Police arrived and found the boy had no injuries, but he was taken to a hospital for medical checks, Oriental Daily reported
The maid has been detained by police while an investigation is being carried out.
Terminate your contract if you don’t like your job, trulala
Over n amo pinkita nya sna yung video pra nman kpanipaniwala tlaga at totoo
Maybe the helper just playing too rough with the baby.. Thinking bed is soft and cannot have injury… But still its child abuse… Better hire a helper with more knowledge and. Patience to take care of a baby… This must serve a lesson for helpers not to be rough on kids…
OMG…u better quit to ur job if u don’t feel happy ….
Prior accepting the job offer, being a nanny, first you must examine yourself if your patience is enough to tackle the naughtiness of a kids youre going to take good care, and you must be aware of the consequences if ever…if you dont have these two you better not work as nanny.
What would you do if someone threw your child onto a bed?
I would have you arrested
Kerja itu yang sabar mbak
If I were this employer, Itheyd better stay at home took care of their toddlers rather than wasting their time monitoring the house and waiting for the abuse to takes place..
I agree on you, she might be just playing rough to the baby, but then we nanny or helpers or whatever you want to be called, we must be very very careful doing rough games to the children we are looking after. For we have different culture, we have study first our employers attitude towards on how they look after their own child. Playing rough is one of the dangerous thing to do, coz accidents always happens in split seconds. Throwing the baby as well is a dangerous thing to do even the baby will land on a soft material. Its almost like to a shaken baby, if we dance the baby to much it will be a for of shaken then..so we must be very careful. Do not be carried away the laughing and cuteness of the baby when we play them. Poor lady…
Dave Muir i am a morher too i agree with you of course no mother would want to see this to her child/ children.
Ilabas ang vedio kng tlgang totoo, not just saying my vedio, unfair nmn s helper in,everybody knows about attitude of employer,
Elsa Quitlong Estrada don’t you mean in jail?
dave muir i think she’s referring to the helper not the employer…
That true. Some employers do nothing but monitor just to find errors from their helpers. Know the word AUTHORITY?
Having said these, we have no right to judge the helper. Maybe the boss had a wrong judgement on the helper’s actions. Maybe… and maybe the helper did too but no one of us knew what really happened.
There are cases when an everyday normal activity will become horibly wrong when small arguments happen. Let us say, a maid normally touches her ward then suddenly when they have misunderstanding with the boss, it becomes molesting or what ever…
Hayyy buhay natin. Basta ingat nlng tayong lahat
Winter Primrose 10months old baby if really there is a surveillance camera in the room the employer must show the evidence. Because the police said there is no injury. And employers cannot put camera’s in the room because its a Private place already. So don’t judge the helper maybe the employer doesn’t like her helper but she can talk to her helper, and not to make things bad to the helper. This is just what I think. Thanks….
Cielo Satira I agree with u. And the other side employer cannot put camera’s in the room. Because its a private place already. If I am her maid I also charge my employer putting camera in our room of the baby. If the maid really have the intension to hurt the baby must have the injury. So I hope the police will investigate the case very carefully so that they will not punish the poor maid unjustly….
Check the video footages first before making any conclusions
Tama k,,,,di nila nbasa siguro,,,????????????
Elsa Quitlong Estrada kapag nasa tamang edad na sya
I hope this is not true..why need further investigation if she has a video footage..?
They knows what their kids!!how their kids naughty and over spoiled !!even In their parents the kids doesn’t listen to them.the maid use their own strategy how the kids disiplain and followed to her because it’s hard to handle the kids that doesn’t listen and followed..what problems their kids even the attitude they always blame to the maid!!
Do you think the helper will do that in front of camera? I don’t think she is stupid to do that, when she knows her boss can see her. Show the video here, so everyone can see. And for the mother, I think she better take care of her own child rather than hiring a helper, then wasting her time watching surveilance camera.
We are here to work not to commit crime…first of all accepting a job to look after a child whether a baby or a kid first thing to do consider this children are yours take good care of them as if your own children show them love and care and most of all love your job …..without this children we don’t have work try to consider this things before entering a job…..and when it comes to cameras put yourself in the foot of your employer you also don’t want your children to be hurt so they are just making sure thier kids are safe in our hands.though we can’t blame some of them don’t trust us but whether there is camera or not do your job properly no trouble will come to you…..and to be fair the employer should show the video of what really happened so the public will be aware….and for the comments let’s be sensitive we don’t know what really happens so let’s stop blaming the employer and the helper…let’s wait for the truth….good day everyone….
before you sign the contract you know already your job is to take care of the baby..and do the household work…just 10 months old bb …if you dont like work then terminate yourself dont hurt anybody we are here for work not for pleasure…
Shes insane! If shes not happy to her work why she didn’t terminate the contract. If i’m the mum of the baby i will throw u out of the window!…
Of course the mother have all the reasons to get angry over the matter… but how stupid is the maid for her to do that if she knew, a camera was installed? The camera footage should be carefully analyzed whether there was an intention to hurt the baby or just a rough play
Pls dont apply as a maid if you dont love your job. That is your duties and resposibilities employer pay you. you must return good service and love the family you serve
10 months old baby is lovely and cute just serve with love everything will be alright .
