The minimum temperature in Hong Kong will be about 9 degrees Celsius or below for much of this week.

An intense winter monsoon will bring cold weather to southern China, and weather in Hong Kong will be cloudy with rain. Low temperatures will be around 9C from Monday to Wednesday, according to a nine-day forecast on the Observatory’s website.

The minimum is expected to drop to 8 degrees on Thursday, but the weather will improve gradually in the latter part of the week.

The Observatory has forecast sunny and dry weather on the weekend but the cold weather will persist.

It expected a minimum temperature of around 9 degrees on Saturday and 8 degrees on Sunday with highs of just 13 to 14 degrees during the day.
