A 42-year-old Indian man was arrested by police in Kowloon’s Yau Mai Tei for alleged drug trafficking on Thursday.

Officers from the special duties unit at Yau Tsim Police received a tip-off and intercepted the man outside an apartment on 228 Reclamation Street in Yau Ma Tei at 8pm, Oriental Daily reported.

Some 515 grams of suspected cannabis resin were seized from the man.

Officers took the suspect back to his apartment and seized another 5,700 grams of suspected cannabis resin and an electric scale.

The estimated street value of the suspected illegal drugs was HK$448,000 (US$57,303).

The man has been detained for further investigation.
