India’s Defense Ministry says that it successfully tested an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Thursday.
CNN says the nuclear-capable Agni-5 is believed to be India’s most advanced ICBM. The missile was reportedly fired on Thursday morning India time from Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of the eastern state of Odisha.
The test was characterized as a “major boost” to the country’s defense capabilities.
Vipin Narang, an associate professor of political science at MIT who studies nuclear proliferation, was quoted by CNN as saying that Thursday’s test was not a sign of any “new capability” for the missile. “(This) was simply a developmental test before India inducts it into operational range,” Narang said.
The Agni-5 has reportedly been tested five times since 2012. The canister-launched, three-stage rocket is capable of hitting Pakistan and China.

Why sir are you jealous of indian people brains who is occupied BIG post in big companies
AGNI-5 is made by Indian scientists by their own…. not like China stealing from USA & PAK begging from China to give formula… &&& sell PAK land to China ????????????????

We need China broken up into twenty states. The Chinese Crooks Party controlling that alleged "couutnry" dare not hold elections lest this happens.

Thanks for replying and I fully agree with you. The two examples of the "Dravidian" south and Bengal were just examples of an unnatural nation state. India the "nation state" should be made up of several nations simply going by language, religion, and ethnicity.
I often hear that "India’s" economy was 25% of the world’s economy in the 18th century. The reason is that in the 18th century South Asia was made up of several economies of Empires and kingdomes. Each of those economies had their own armies and trade relations between each other and with powers abroad. Almost all the kingdoms were managed better, were less corrupt, had a cleaner environment and an overal higher standard of living.
In the 18th century technology in South Asia was equal if not better than that in Europe. Hygiene was better than Europe, and cultural enrichment of the common man was higher then than in India today.
Taking in all factors South Asia of the 18th century which was made up of several governing entities did far better than India today under one governing entity. That was my point. Of course I applied it to a nuclear strick and the damage it would do to a single entity like India or a region of multiple nations.
Derek Thai coward mode activated among chinese.

Derek Thai ignorant fool. You talk too much. Calm down. We are all existing well on this earth. Right. God bless us all..
I have commented before that India the nation state is an artificial construct of the British Empire that served best under that Empire (1857-1947). But when India got her independence she should have reverted to the "natural state" of many nations as was the case before European powers came to South Asia.
The transfer of power from London to New Delhi has achieved little for the common man except to serve as a behemoth against Asia’s other giants namely China, but also Russia. India achieved satellite technology, missile and nuclear technology, a massive army all of which serve this purpose while she lagged in some of the basic human development indexes. I believe New Delhi’s main purpose was not the people as much as projecting a power.
But this multi nation, mulit faith, multi linqual behemoth called India also has a vulnerable spot. Depending on where a nuclear strike occurs India’s capacity to remain a united behemoth could fail.
A strike that could destablize any of the major ethnic;/linguistic componens of Hindu India could shatter the artificial state of India. A blow on Bengal or the Dravidian south will trigger uprising and the demand to secede either by Bengalis or Tamils, Telugus, or Malayali.
The devastation of predominantly Dravidians could cause a social upheaval against the northern Hindi belt, same with the Bengali speakers. I see India’s unity of these diverse regional powers held by New Delhi tenuous.
Had India emerged as several nations in 1947 then today each nation would have their own militaries and foreign policies. China would be Asia’s giant but she would be dealing with a Sout Asian region closer to that of Europe. A nuclear strike would be nation specific in South Asia with a lesser social fallout.
No, North Korea is alot more benevolent than the indian bully, where it downtrods on smaller neighbours at its whim, not because it is stronger, but because it happens to be bigger and more populated than them.
India will be reborn as a double head snake, and be lost as a pea size country, in the far flung pacific ocean, thick with jungles where snakes can thrive in their natural habitat. That is the result of decades of negative karma accumulated by india, with its constant harrasment of neighbour countries and abuse of its own dalit people.
Thanks for the easy question. No.
The Indians will never allow the Chinese to achieve their evil aggressive wishes.
The Chinese threat will spur India to economic action, in a way that nothing else will.
They will outperform China in supplies the world with cheaper goods and China’s prosperity will shrink and shrivel.
Ah well.
Looks like China has awoken the Indian warrior.
Chinese aggressive takeover ideas will never be accepted.
Both countries will wage an arms race and the people will be at a developmental standstill.
Ah well.
Derek Thai China is a political stone age already 😀
India will be goner and blown back to stone age if they ever try anything remotely aggressive. But knowing typical indian behavior, they are often highly prone to want to show off, to make themselves noticed, so just they might do something that stupid.
Shouldn’t India be treated like North Korea?…
