A two-year-old girl is in a critical condition after falling into a coma during an apparent epilepsy episode at a luxury residential apartment in Pok Fu Lam on Hong Kong Island.

The girl, whose parents are both Filipinos, lives with a family at Residence Bel-Air in Cyberport, Sing Tao Daily reported. She was found unconscious by her 33-year-old father, and taken by paramedics to Queen Mary Hospital suffering from a shortness of breath.

The girl regained consciousness in the hospital but was admitted to the paediatric intensive care unit in a critical condition.

Police conducted an investigation and concluded the girl had fainted due to her illness. They said there was no evidence of foul play.
