Temperatures in Hong Kong are likely to drop significantly from Monday due to a cold front moving across the south China coast.

A nine-day weather forecast on the Observatory’s website on Thursday predicted that the temperature on Sunday would reach 19 degrees Celsius but drop noticeably after that.

Cold weather with patches of rain will persist next week as an intense winter monsoon approaches.

The temperature is expected to drop to just 10C on Monday, then 9 degrees from Tuesday to Thursday when the highest temperature is likely to be just 13 to 14 degrees.

With cloudy weather, temperatures will be low. The Observatory advised citizens to keep warm as they will feel much colder on windy and rainy winter days.

But the weather next Friday – February 2 – should be fine and dry.
