U.S. tightens exports to China’s chipmaker SMIC, citing risk of military use

An Indonesian domestic worker accused of publishing child pornography in Hong Kong was released on bail at the Eastern Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Yuni Kristiani, 28, is suspected of posting a 17-minute video on Facebook of herself bathing three naked children aged between six and eight at an apartment in North Point’s City Garden housing estate on Hong Kong Island last week.

No plea was taken and she was released on bail of HK$1,500 (US$192) cash, with the further provision that she was not allowed to leave Hong Kong or to return to the apartment where she worked, Sing Pao reported.

After her arrest, it was understood that the defendant had been fired.

A staff member at the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong said it would provide the woman with free accommodation, Apple Daily reported.

The magistrate also ordered the defendant to report to the Wan Chai Police Station every day.

The case was adjourned until January 18.
