A cold front will bring cooler weather to Hong Kong next week as an intense winter monsoon lingers over southern China. The city will suffer a cold, dry and windy period before the Christmas holidays, according to a weather bulletin on the Observatory’s website.

On Saturday night, temperatures will drop to around 13 degree Celsius and continue to fall in the next 24 hours.

By Monday morning, the temperature will  hover around 11 degree Celsius. It will then remain cold until next Thursday.

As a precaution, the Hong Kong Centre for Health Protection has warned the public to wrap-up warm, particularly the elderly and people with chronic illnesses.
