A 43-year-old man died on Monday in a motorcycle accident in Sai Kung’s Clear Water Bay area, in Hong Kong’s New Territories. The man surnamed Chan, who was engaged to get married next April, had been among five motorcyclists riding to Sai Kung, Oriental Daily reported.

When the group arrived at a curve on Tai Au Mun Road near Clear Water Bay Second Beach around 11pm on Monday, the leading motorcyclist, a 39-year-old man surnamed Wan, lost control of his bike.

It was understood that Chan then lost control as well. He crashed on to a curb and seriously injured his head, suffering massive bleeding. He also suffered a fractured neck.

Chan was sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital but was pronounced dead later.

Wan was also sent to hospital with a fractured left hand, Sing Tao Daily reported.

Police arrived at the scene after the accident and took the victims’ helmets and shoes for investigation.
