Police arrested two men for a violent attack that resulted in one death and in serious injuries to two other victims in Kowloon’s Kwun Tong on Monday.

At 11pm, five men were hanging around in a playground outside Kwun Tong Garden Estate in Ngau Tau Kok, Apple Daily reported. A minivan arrived and seven men got out of the vehicle and chased the original five, attacking them with knives and iron rods.

A 25-year-old man named Hamed was slashed on his neck and was pronounced dead later in United Christian Hospital.

A 23-year-old man named Singh and a third man named Mohammad, 25, were both in serious condition in hospital. All three victims were born in Hong Kong of Pakistani ethnicity, Oriental Daily reported.

The other two were able to escape the attack.

Two suspects aged 26 and 39 were arrested in Wong Tai Sin later in the day.

Anti-triad officers from the Kowloon East Police District are investigating the motive for the attack.
