A 65-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly throwing wine bottles and other objects from a high-level flat in Ma On Shan in the New Territories on Wednesday.
Police had received over 10 reports since September about various objects falling from high up in Chung Tak House in Chung On Estate in Ma On Shan, which has the Ling Liang Kindergarten on the ground floor of the building, Oriental Daily reported.
The objects reported to have fallen from higher floors included paper, paper boxes, egg boxes, leftovers, an old mobile phone and wine bottles.
After a week of surveillance, police witnessed a wine bottle thrown out of a window on the 11th floor of the building on Wednesday.
Officers arrested the woman deemed responsible and found 31 wine bottles in her flat.
It was understood that the woman surnamed Yip, who is a night-shift security guard, could not sleep due to noise from the kindergarten.
Yip told the police she drank alcohol to try to have a good sleep before she threw bottles to the ground floor to vent her feelings, Sing Pao reported.
Police took the woman back to the police station for further inquiries.
