A 40-year-old Filipino man had three fingers severed in a work accident in a hotel kitchen in Macau on Tuesday.

The man – a migrant worker from the Philippines – was injured by a cookie-cutting machine while working in the kitchen at the MGM Macau, a hotel in Nape area, Hou Kong Daily reported.

His thumb, index finger and middle finger were severed by the machine at about 5pm.

Police and paramedics arrived and got the man, who was still conscious, to Hospital Conde S Januário for medical treatment.

Officers are investigating the cause of the accident.
