Police arrested a British man and a South African woman for alleged drug trafficking when they raided their flat in Mid-levels on Hong Kong Island on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, officers from the Central and Western Police District intercepted the 22-year-old man of British origin and the 24-year-old woman of South African origin when they returned to a flat at 18 Arbuthnot Road in Central at 10pm, Oriental Daily reported.
Police confiscated various suspected drugs in the flat including methcathinone, cannabis, ecstasy and ketamine with an estimated street value of HK$20,000 (US$2,560).
The report did not disclose the amount of the drugs confiscated.
The man was purported to be working in investment industry while the woman was a tutor. They both have local identity cards.
Police are now tracing the source of the drugs and “sales channels”.
