Police are hunting for a burglar who break-in a luxury home in Stanley on Hong Kong Island on Tuesday.
A 64-year-old domestic worker reported to police at 8am that the villa on Stanley Beach Road, at Stanley Crest, had been ransacked, Headline Daily reported.
A window had been pried open – and a safe in her employer’s bedroom plundered.
The domestic worker also informed her employer, who was in overseas.
About HK$100,000 (US$12,810) in cash, including local currency, US dollars and Euro, was stolen.
After an initial investigation, police suspected that burglars had entered the house from the balcony via the beach, as the estate was located alongside Stanley Beach.
