An Australian man alerted police that his girlfriend – also from Australia – was unconscious in a hotel room in Kowloon on Thursday.

The 52-year-old man named Robert called police at 1am to say he found his girlfriend Anne collapsed in a room at the Kimberley Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Sing Tao Daily reported.

Police and paramedics arrived and sent the woman to hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, police confiscated two grams of suspected heroin, 10 grams of suspected cannabis resin, one gram of suspected methamphetamine and a few suspected ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of HK$3,000 (US$384), the Oriental Daily reported.

Equipment for smoking drugs was also found inside the room.

Police arrested the man for alleged drug trafficking. They were investigating to see if the woman collapsed from a drug overdose.

Officers from the criminal squad at Yau Tsim Police Station are following up the case.
