The Chinese government announced on Monday that the State Council has decided to carry out the country’s third national land survey starting from the fourth quarter of 2017, the China Securities Journal reported.
The survey will include details of land usage, land ownership, land conditions and changes, the report said. The status and changes of permanent basic farmland will be deeply investigated, including the quantity and distribution of the land.
The preparation of the third national land survey, including technical development, pilot projects, training and publicity work, will kick off starting from the fourth quarter of this year.
Field surveys and database construction will run from January 2018 to June 2019, while final results, data updates and summaries are expected to be done in the second half of 2019, the report said.
