Observation conditions are favorable for the Orionids Meteor shower when the “sky show” reaches maximum activity late on Saturday night, according to information on the Hong Kong Space Museum’s website.
The museum suggested the best observation period would be from 10:30pm on Saturday night till 5:30am on Sunday morning.
The Observatory advised viewers to wear warm clothes because of the temperature difference at night and in rural areas, Ming Pao Daily reported.
Meanwhile, autumn is approaching finally due to cooler, dry air from the northeast, but forecasters say it may just be a brief sign of things to come.
The Observatory said the northeast monsoon would bring slightly cooler weather – temperatures in the city could drop to 20 degrees Celsius on Monday, according to the latest weather bulletin on its website.
But the temperature could reach 28 degrees Celsius, showing that the temperature range between day and night will be quite large.
Temperatures are expected to pick up gradually after Monday.
