A 79-year-old Singaporean man who went missing while on a short walk with his maid on October 7 was found wandering along a street shirtless and shoeless five days after.

Yee Ah-kum, who suffers from dementia and diabetes, had last been seen around 1:30pm on the afternoon of October 7 near a public housing block in Geylang East, Lianhe Wanbao (Singapore) reported on the weekend.

A female netizen noted on the Facebook page of the man’s daughter that a half-naked elderly man was playing with soft-drink cans outside a fruit store at another public housing block on Whampoa Drive last Thursday evening.

The 51-year-old daughter immediately rushed to the neighborhood, and found her father, with no shirt or shoes, wandering outside a public housing block on Tenteram Road at around 1am on Friday.

The elderly man sustained a minor injury on his forehead, and was shivering and curled up on the ground. He was confused and called his daughter by the maid’s name instead.

The family sent him to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he was diagnosed with a pulmonary infection.
