A 32-year-old Indonesian domestic worker was sent to hospital after becoming emotionally traumatized by witnessing the death of a Hong Kong woman, also 32, who plunged from a 13th-floor apartment in Tseung Kwan O, New Territories East.

At about 2pm on Wednesday, the Hong Kong woman, who suffered from postpartum depression after giving birth to a baby girl a month ago, fell from an apartment at Sheung Yee House, Sheung Tak Estate, after having a quarrel on the phone with her husband, a Chinese man who resides on the mainland, Oriental Daily reported.

She was found dead in front of a kindergarten on the fourth-floor platform of the public estate building, Sing Tao Daily reported. It was a holiday for the kindergarten.

A domestic worker who happened to be walking by the fourth-floor platform witnessed the fatality and became emotionally distraught. She was sent to hospital.

The apartment belongs to the deceased woman’s mother, who was away visiting a young relative in Tseung Kwan O Hospital at the time of the incident on Wednesday. Police ruled out foul play.
