A survey produced by FT Confidential Research showed for the first time more Chinese consumers planned to by a Huawei phone than one from Apple.

The number of those who planned to buy the new iPhone 8, 8 Plus or X was down significantly from the total who expected last year to pick up the 7.

The overall proportion of those who said they would buy an iPhone dropped to 24.2% in September, down from 25.8% at the time of the iPhone 7 launch in 2016, and 31.4% in 2015. Huawei took the top spot this year, with 31.4% of respondents looking forward to purchasing one of the Chinese brand’s devices.

That’s all she wrote, folks. It was fun while it lasted, Apple, but the terminal decline of your dominance in China’s high-end smartphone market is here.
