A 17-year-old Hyderabadi girl was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, according to news reports. She went missing on Saturday evening and was found dead on Tuesday.
Class 12 student Chandini Jain was a classmate and a childhood friend of the suspect, Sai Kiran, who was arrested by police on Wednesday, NDTV reported. The two are believed to have been in a relationship for the past two years. However, the police said that Kiran wanted to end the relationship but Jain did not. The police believe he felt pressured when Jain asked him to marry her and killed her.
A police officer said, “The accused said he decided to end the relationship and called her to meet him Saturday evening. He took her to the hillocks and after a bitter argument he hit her on the head and neck and pushed her down the boulders into a ditch 10 feet below. After a couple of hours when Chandini’s sister called him to enquire if she was with him, he denied and went to her house and met the parents and joined in the search. CCTV footage helped us nail him.”
The police arrested Kiran when he visited the victim’s home to offer his condolences.
