Two teachers at a school in Punjab allegedly beat a 10-year-old boy with sticks, according to media reports.

On September 27, Mansukh Singh informed his parents that he had been in a fight with another student at Ludhiana’s Ryan International School. His father Jaswinder, who had noticed red marks on his back, said the two teachers, Raman and Harpreet, thrashed him as punishment for the brawl, India Today reported.

However, school principal Gurpal Kaur Anand dismissed the allegation, telling ANI, “I can assure you nothing of this sort happened. The student was suspended for a month on disciplinary grounds after he got into a brawl with another child.”

The boy has undergone t a medical examination and the parents have given a written statement to police.
