A Japanese newspaper says North Korea has obtained electronic “EMP bombs” from Russia that can jam electronic signals and disable technology on enemy planes, ships and missiles.
UPI is citing a Japanese-language report by the Sankei Shimbun that says the North secured the technology from Russia and also sourced it from the former Soviet Union.
Pyongyang has repeatedly claimed that it has EMP technology that can cripple enemy radar and satellites trying to locate North Korean targets.
The claim was supported in a June report by 38 North, a specialist website on North Korea hosted by Johns Hopkins University. The article said the Russians may have “accidentally” transferred the design of Russia’s super-EMP warhead to North Korea before 2004.
Three ingredients needed: properly designed nuke, mobile missile to reach 300 miles altitude, old merchant ship with a tall superstructure.
Goodbye to electronics and grid controls West Coast.
You think they don’t know this?
North Korean scientists are great. They can make it to protect themselves.
DARPA and Penatagon are just laughing at them
An EMP nuke exploded in the stratosphere over the center of our nation would absolutely destroy our nation as we know it, and leave civilization on this planet reeling. Of course if America is destroyed via an EMP are Russia and China far behind? North Korea has no real game plan I can discern other than to possess nukes which it does. Any use of them however would spell soon not only to it, but its allies as well.
Delivered accidentally to North Korea by the Russians???do you expect anyone to believe that?
They.playing with fire
I like the by mistake bit
In crisis this would only knock off Russian signals
That means that we must either strike first or take the missles out as they are going up. EMP will knock us back into the stone age and kill 90% of Americans in the first 90 days. No communication, food, fuel, water, electricity, medical assistance or prescriptions, transportation, heat, clothing, etc. This is an O Shit Moment.
So u think?
