Some parents will do whatever they can to make their children happy. A Hong Kong mother proved this when several photos of her surfaced on Thursday that went viral on social media.

Three photos posted on a Facebook page called “Ma On Shan HK” showed a woman in a black top and shorts waiting at a school-bus stop in Ma On Shan in the New Territories on Thursday afternoon, HK01.com reported.

But the mother was different from others as she was wearing a bunny-head costume in the hot weather.

Netizens praised the woman for being sweet but wondered what her reasons were. She told a reporter that her son had just started kindergarten, and was fearful of taking the school bus.

To comfort him and ease his worries about going to school, the woman  told her son that his favorite toy would support him, and promised him that she would wear the bunny head when she picked him up.

“I want to nurture my son as a person with integrity. Since I had promised to wear the bunny-head costume, I had to do it, as parents need to set a good example for their children follow.”

The woman said her son was overjoyed when he saw her at the pick-up point.

Meanwhile, she said on her own Facebook page that she had communicated with the school-bus nanny 10 minutes before the pick-up time about her costume and she showed them her pick-up card, refuting some netizens who had raised security questions, Sing Tao Daily reported.
