The Japanese daily Mainichi Shimbun has filmed a scene that appears to show Iran assembling Afghan refugees living in its territory and sending them to fight in Syria’s civil war.
The newspaper says, based on testimonies provided by those dispatched to Syria in the past, that it has twice confirmed Afghan refugees being assembled on the outskirts of Tehran for this purpose.
Iran officially says that it is not directly involved in the conflict in Syria.
