The upcoming BRICS Summit is expected to achieve “seven results” and push pragmatic cooperation between BRIC countries to new heights, said Zhou Qiangwu, Director of the International Finance and Economics Center of the Ministry of Finance, the 21st Century Business Herald reported.

The achievements will “contribute to the development of BRIC countries, and improve the world economy, as well as the governance of global economics,” Zhou said.

The 9th annual BRICS Summit, scheduled from September 3 to 5 in Xiamen City in the southeast of China’s Fujian province, is expected to provide more opportunities for emerging economies and injecting impetus into economic globalization.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Wednesday that President Xi Jinping will preside over a wide range of small-scale conferences and large-scale meetings on September 4.

Main topics of the small-scale conferences will include global economic situations and governance, international and regional debates, as well as national security and development.
