A 37-year-old Bangladeshi man working in an excavator plunged to the bottom of a hill and was buried under rubble after a landslide on Wednesday evening in Selangor, Malaysia.
The excavator driver was working alone at 5pm, cleaning up a worksite on a hilltop at Taman Villa Height in Kajang, Sin Chew Daily reported on Friday.
Part of the hilltop collapsed suddenly, causing the excavator to plunge about 70 feet to the ground. The worker was buried under the rubble.
Eight firefighters arrived at the scene at 5.19pm to rescue the trapped man, who was pulled out 35 minutes later. However, the paramedics pronounced him dead shortly after.
Malaysian police are investigating the cause of the accident.
