A suspected al-Qaeda operative was arrested in east Delhi, police officials said on Monday.

Following a tip-off, Shauman Haq, 27, was arrested near Vikas Marg on Sunday by Delhi Police’s Special Cell, according to PTI. Haq’s interrogation is underway.

According to the DCP (Special Cell) Pramod Kushwaha, an identity card was found in Haq’s possession that said he was a native of Kishanganj in Bihar, Hindustan Times reported.

Reports said that Haq had been working for the terrorist organization for the last four years.
