A 13-year-old girl was hit by a car when crossing the road in Yuen Long in the New Territories on Saturday.
The girl, of Nepalese origin, was hit by a seven-seat minivan when crossing the intersection of Kau Yuk Road and Chung Sing Path at 5pm with relatives, Apple Daily reported.
The girl was lying on the road and her legs were bleeding after the accident.
The driver got off the car and checked the girl’s status but then drove car away.
Passersby rushed to help the girl and a nurse gave her first-aid to stop the bleeding. Paramedics arrived and sent the girl to the hospital.
Half an hour after the accident, a 35-year-old man who said he was the driver returned to the scene and turned himself in to police.
