A 45-year-old Filipino man was arrested by Macau police on Tuesday for allegedly stealing 10,500 Macanese patacas (US$1,304) from a local man on the street in late July.

On July 23, police received a report that a local man was robbed by a man who came from behind when he was walking alone near Chok Lam Temple on Estrada de Coelho do Amaral at 3am, Macao Daily News reported on Thursday.

The local man lost a bag he was carrying with cash, plus his identity card and bank cards.

After investigating, police arrested the Filipino man, who is unemployed, on Tuesday and sent him to the Public Prosecutions Office. The man will face a charge of robbery.
