An officer at Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station in Kowloon is under investigation for allegedly taking unauthorized photos of a woman inside the station on Tuesday.

Two photos of a woman wearing a black, deep-cut tank top that showed her cleavage were circulated among some police officers’ WhatsApp groups and went viral, HK01.com reported.

One of the photos, which had been snapped some distance away, showed the woman standing behind a counter and facing a policeman who was making records on a computer.

Another photo was a high-angle shot focusing on the woman’s breasts while she was looking at her mobile phone.

Apple Daily reported that a police sergeant allegedly took the photos and shared them to the WhatsApp groups. The photos were then leaked to the Internet.

Senior management of the Hong Kong police force decided to investigate the case. The initial investigation included checking closed-circuit TV footage to identify the photographer.

Police said they were highly concerned about the incident and would  handle seriously any misconduct the probe uncovered.
