A 81-year-old woman and her 40-year-old domestic worker were hit by a taxi when they crossed a road in Kowloon on Tuesday.

The old woman and her maid were crossing Cha Kwo Ling Road via an island in front of the Pamela Youde Polyclinic, when a taxi coming from Yau Hong Street hit both of them at about 10am, Apple Daily reported.

The domestic worker, whose nationality was not disclosed, immediately held the old lady tight around her arm, a witness told the paper.

Fortunately, the pair suffered only minor injuries.

A doctor and two nurses immediately rushed out from the clinic to treat them while one nurse held an umbrella to shade the old woman.

Paramedics later arrived and sent the woman and the maid to hospital for further treatment.
