After years of stalled water infrastructure projects, Israeli and Palestinian water officials finally started meeting again a few months ago, and have now come to an agreement to cooperate on a large project that will provide billions of gallons of new water for Israel, Palestine and Jordan.

Seth Siegel wrote in an editorial for the New York Times this month on how the project ties the countries interests together and why their shared geography may help lead to more profound reconciliation.
