After Chinese carmaker Fiat Chrysler expressed interest on Monday in buying some or all of Fiat Chrysler, including the Jeep and Ram truck brands, specifically, the company dampened enthusiasm on Tuesday.

In a statement released to the Shanghai Stock exchange, the company confirmed interest in FCA, but said that there was a “great deal of uncertainty” regarding any future progress on a deal.

Shares fell as much as 2% in Shanghai on Wednesday, before closing down 1.6%.
