A four-minute video went viral on social media showing an elderly man yelling and swearing at a passenger of European appearance for not yielding his seat to him on a Hong Kong MTR train.

The video was posted on Facebook by a netizen who said the incident occurred on the Tung Chung Line of the Mass Transit Railway. After the scolding, the other man gave up his seat, HK01.com reported.

The elderly man, wearing a blue sleeveless shirt and walking unsteadily, yelled, “Here belongs to China,” “Hong Kong returned to China, here is China’s place, none of your f—ing business,” and continued his swearing at the other man, wearing a white shirt, for about two minutes.

The passenger, unwilling to be humiliated, gave his critic the middle finger and swore back at him.

A younger man standing between the two antagonists asked the elderly  man to drink some water and calm down, adding that his behavior was upsetting other passengers.

Fortunately, the altercation did not get physical and the target of the elderly man’s wrath got off the train at Tsing Yi Station, Sing Tao Daily reported.

Netizens slammed the elderly man’s behavior and praised the young man for his efforts to calm the situation.
