A 33-year-old guest relations executive was fired after accusing her New Delhi hotel’s security manager of molesting and trying to disrobe her on her birthday last month, media reports said on Friday.

CCTV footage of the July 29 incident, which was shared by the woman, shows a man pulling at her saree and dragging her towards him. She manages to drive him away after a brief tussle. The victim had been working at the Delhi Aerocity hotel near Delhi airport for about two years.

The alleged assailant, Pawan Dahiya, has been suspended and arrested.

The woman told NDTV, “It was my birthday. He called me to his cabin, took out his credit card and asked me what gift I wanted. Boss told me to sit, and when I didn’t sit, he pulled me towards him and tried to take off my saree. He told the other colleague to go out of the room.”

The woman alleged that when she complained to the hotel’s HR officials about the incident, she was sacked instead of the security manager. Three days after the alleged crime, the woman lodged a police complaint.
