From US State Department press briefing on Tuesday:

Question: “China yesterday briefed a lot of diplomats about the condition – the border conditions with India, and including the US diplomat. What did they share with you, if you can say, or what is the U.S. position now on the tense situation on the border between India and China?”

“I know that the United States is concerned about the ongoing situation there. I know we believe that both parties, both sides should work together to try to come up with some better sort of arrangement for peace,” US Department of State spokesperson Heather Nauert said in response.
