India’s Women and Child Development (WCD) Ministry has launched an online complaint box, according to media reports.

“SHe-box” (Sexual Harassment electronic box), a platform to help female central government employees file complaints related to workplace sexual harassment, can be found on the ministry’s website

WCD Minister Maneka Gandhi, who launched the box, was quoted as saying, “We are also going to soon conduct a national survey to assess the nature and magnitude of sexual harassment at the workplace. To begin with, central government women employees can file complaints, but we are going to widen the ambit to include the private sector as well.”

According to WCD Ministry officials, the decision to set up the platform was made last October after the ministry received numerous complaints from female employees.
