A 20-year-old man was was arrested after traveling stark naked on Hong Kong’s Mass Transit Railway (MTR) from Tsim Sha Tsui to North Point during the busy hours of Wednesday evening.

At 7pm, the man surnamed Wong, who reportedly lives in Tseung Kwan O in New Territories, was seen fully unclothed on Hankow Road in Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon. According to a video on a Facebook page, he was only wearing a pair of shoes and holding a mobile phone and a wallet.

He took some money from an automated teller machine before entering the MTR station. He walked at a normal pace, without being disturbed by anyone, while passengers alerted station staff.

When the staff located Wong, he had already boarded a train heading to Admiralty. He changed to the Hong Kong Island Line in Admiralty, according to a picture posted by a netizen.

Wong put on his earphones and played his mobile phone on the train, apparently unfazed by people staring at or filming him, Oriental Daily reported.

When Wong changed trains in Admiralty bound for Chai Wan, MTR staff members jumped aboard and covered him up with towels, Apple Daily reported. He declined to get off the train, telling staffers that he was heading to Hang Hau Station in New Territories.

Wong exited at North Point Station and was arrested by police for suspected indecency in public. He was then sent to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan for an examination.

Police later re-categorized the case as “mentally impaired person found”, Sing Pao reported.
