The Unique Identification Authority of India launched a new app for Aadhaar card users on Wednesday, according to media reports.

Called mAadhaar, the app stores the user’s Aadhaar biometric data and photo on their smartphone. The mobile number registered with the user’s Aadhaar card must be used to login to the app, Business Today reported.

Access requires an automatically generated temporary password that allows users to update and view their profile.

The mAadhaar application is available only on the Google Play Store.
