An underground gambling den in Mong Kok that live-streamed baccarat games from a casino in the Philippines was busted by Hong Kong police during an operation on Thursday.
That evening, police arrested a 56-year-old woman for allegedly operating an illegal gambling establishment at 36-38 Argyle Street. They also arrested one man and two women, aged between 42 and 58, on suspicion of gaming in an illegal gambling establishment.
The den was found broadcasting a baccarat gaming table in a casino in the Philippines, police said.
Officers confiscated HK$35,000 (US$4,480) in gambling chips and HK$1,320 cash along with a computer and a television set.
The gambling den, believed to be controlled by a triad and to have started operations two months ago, took in about HK$10,000 a day, said a senior inspector from Mong Kok district.
