A 34-year-old mainland Chinese woman was detained by Hong Kong police on Saturday for allegedly kicking a Cathay Pacific flight attendant because she was not satisfied with the catering service on the plane.
At 4:30pm, the Chinese passport holder surnamed Liu, who was taking a CX flight from Thailand and transferred to Beijing in Hong Kong, had an argument with a 29-year-old flight attendant surnamed Yuen, Apple Daily reported.
It was reported that Liu became emotional during the argument and pushed and kicked Yuen, who sustained injuries to her left leg.
The air hostess reported the incident to the flight captain. Hong Kong police officers arrived at the scene when the plane touched down. The Airport Authority was also informed of the matter.
Liu was arrested for alleged common assault and she was detained, as she is not a permanent resident of Hong Kong.
Yuen was sent to North Lantau Hospital for treatment and was later discharged, according to an airline spokesman, Headline Daily reported.
Only half of the story reported. Yes, the Chinese are bad tempered but not all. CX flight attendents aren’t all angels as well. My family wasn’t served any food on a flight from HK to MY a few years ago (when everybody else were). Only thing they could do was an apology from other stewardess and not the one who was serving my aisle. Made an official complaint to the HK Tourism Board and they said they’ll investigate it. After 2 years, the investigation goes on…. No wonder Cathay Pacific is losing money. What do they expect if they give crappy service?
