Two junior secondary school pupils were arrested over alleged drug trafficking after police recovered 400 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street worth of HK$510,000 (US$65,447) in Kwai Chung on Saturday evening.
At 9pm, police intercepted a 15-year-old boy surnamed Ho and a 13-year-old girl surnamed Tsang, at Wah Lai Estate. Neither had prior records and both were studying at the same school, according to Ming Pao.
The drugs were being carried by Ho, who told police he was being paid HK$1,000 for running an errand.
Oriental Daily reports that the police are now seeking to track down the origin of the drugs and the masterminds behind their trafficking. Police warned that teenagers must be wary of falling victim to trafficking syndicates as the the summer holidays approach.
