The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is putting the Re1 note back into circulation.

The new note will feature an image of the one-rupee coin, which will continue to be legal tender.

While all the other notes display the RBI governor’s signature, the new pink-green note will feature that of Shaktikanta Das, the recently retired economic affairs secretary.

The new note will display the words ‘भारत सरकार’ above “Government of India” and the number panel will contain the letter “L.”
