Hybrid buses will soon be serving commuters on Mumbai’s roads.

On Thursday, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority held a meeting with officials from the operator BEST and the manufacturer Tata and inspected the first batch of 25 hybrid buses, deeming them technically fit to operate.

According to reports, every month Tata will be supplying five buses for this service. Each bus has a seating capacity of 31 people and a standing capacity of 28. Fares range from Rs15 to Rs25.

The hybrid buses will run along two routes: from Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to Bandra and from Kurla to Sion railway stations.
