One of China’s tech leaders is now up there up with Google and Apple as one of the world’s most valuable brands.
China Daily reports that the instant messaging and mobile payment giant made the top 10 list of the world’s most valuable brands based on a 2017 benchmark ranking issued by WPP and Kantar Millward Brown.
Tencent ranked No. 8, and was one of 21 brands from Asia-Pacific on the top 100 list.
The company runs the enormously popular messaging app WeChat which has nearly 800 million active users worldwide.
