A 48-year-old Singaporean man received a 12-week jail sentence on Thursday after being caught with a total of 75 upskirt videos of 21 women.

The defendant Allen Lim Heng Keat, a self-employed businessman, faced a total of 24 charges and admitted to seven counts of insulting the modesty of the women in 2016 at various public locations including Paya Lebar Central, Capitol Piazza, Somerset, City Hall District and Orchard MRT station.

He was caught during rush hour on August 17 last year trying to take a picture up the skirt of a woman sitting opposite him on a subway train, Lianhe Wanbao reported. A fellow commuter witnessed the incident and chased after Lim, who was arrested by police after he left the Buangkok MRT station.

A police investigation found Lim had been using his Samsung mobile phone to take upskirt photographs and videos from June up until he was caught, the Straits Time reported.

Lim’s lawyer said Lim felt remorse for his actions and that he had been diagnosed with and was undergoing treatment for voyeurism. Moreover, Lim was feeling stressed because his wife was suffering from cancer and his daughter from Asperger’s.
